Overview

Golden State Foods (GSF) is excited to welcome a Corporate Tax Manager to our values-based company. The Corporate Tax Manager is a hands-on position requiring both original work and supervisory responsibilities that manages all tax functions to ensure compliance with Federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations. Joining our 3-person tax team provides the ideal candidate with the opportunity to work on a variety of interesting and challenging tax issues along with the possibility for promotion and career advancement and regular contact and collaboration with leaders of the Accounting, Finance, Treasury, Tax, Risk, International, and Financial Planning & Analysis teams.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the internally prepared federal and multi-state income tax return compliance process including preparation and review of S corporation returns, state nonresident shareholder composite returns, C corporation, partnership and private foundation returns, gross receipts and commercial activity returns, IC-DISC compliance, international reporting and disclosures, and 1099 reporting to ensure timely filing and reporting to shareholders. (50%)
  • Prepare and maintain workpapers in support of positions reported in tax returns including calculation of Section 199A, GILTI, and WOTC. (5%)
  • Estimate taxable income and review quarterly tax estimates and coordinate shareholder distributions and composite payments. (15%)
  • Prepare annual tax provision and financial statement disclosures. (10%)
  • Manage federal and state and other tax audits and appeals and prepare timely replies to various tax notices. (5%)
  • Identify, research, and communicate tax legislative developments and credits and incentives and work collaboratively with external tax advisors to implement relevant tax planning strategies. (5%)
  • Analyze tax consequences of strategic initiatives including acquisitions and divestitures. (5%)
  • Performs other related and assigned duties as necessary in areas such as sales and use tax and property tax. (5%)

Qualifications

Education and experience equivalent to:

 

Education/Certification:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration or related financial discipline from an accredited college or university. Masters in Tax preferred. Active CPA license preferred.

 

Experience:

6+ years of relevant tax experience with strong emphasis on federal and state pass-through entity tax compliance, income tax accounting and financial statement disclosure in both public accounting and corporate tax departments. Experience in manufacturing and/or distribution industry preferred.
