Strategic procurement leader that directs liquid product or SSA procurement activities for U.S. Domestic Manufacturing Operations, ensuring that all products meet GSF’s objectives for price, efficiency, and quality. Support International Divisions.



    1. Strategic purchasing activities via category management, including negotiating with external suppliers, managing contracts, ongoing cost management, service improvement, and quality enhancement. (50%)


    1. Supplier relationship management activities, including periodically meeting and/or visiting with suppliers to enhance communication, ensuring that GSF objectives are well understood, and ongoing performance management via scorecard tools. Track late deliveries, customer complaints, and other quality and supply issues to drive continual improvement.  (30%)


    1. Reduce freight costs on inbound raw materials and packaging. Work with carriers for back haul opportunities and improved delivery times.  Improve routing and shipping methods to decrease freight-related operations costs.  (5%)


    1. Monitor the Supplier Quality Index (SQI) and other measures to evaluate supplier performance in terms of management excellence, low cost/best value, system player, and technical competency/quality. (5%)


    1. Forecast raw material prices for quarterly pricing meeting with the customer to support strong customer relationships and service. (5%)


    1. Administers the minority/diversity purchasing program, submitting quarterly reports to the customer, to ensure diversity objectives are met. (5%)


    1. Performs other related and assigned duties as necessary.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  Education and experience equivalent to:



Bachelor’s degree in business administration from an accredited college or university



7 to 10 years of relevant experience in purchasing and inventory control in the food or restaurant industry.

  • Purchasing and inventory indicators (days on hand, inventory turns, cost of inventory, ABCs, etc.)  (E)

  • Contract management (blanket orders, releases, EDI, verbal agreements, contracts) (E)
