About the Role

The Director of Talent Acquisition leads Golden State Foods’ enterprise-wide recruiting efforts, driving strategic and tactical initiatives to meet the hiring needs of a diverse, multi-business operation. This role partners closely with Business Leaders, HR, and Global Branding to build a sustainable, high-performing recruitment function that supports frontline to executive hiring. In addition to managing a high-performing, geographically dispersed TA team, this leader will champion innovation in sourcing strategies, system optimization, employer brand, and recruitment marketing while ensuring a consistent and high-quality candidate experience.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do

Strategic Talent Acquisition Leadership

  • Forecast and proactively address staffing needs across multiple business units (manufacturing, logistics, corporate), balancing short- and long-term strategies.
  • Serve as the enterprise subject matter expert in talent acquisition, partnering with HR and business leaders to align recruiting efforts with organizational goals.
  • Lead the design and execution of scalable, inclusive sourcing strategies that build diverse talent pipelines for all roles—from hourly to executive.

Lead Team & Stakeholder Management

  • Provides strategic oversight and daily leadership to the Talent Acquisition and TA Operations team, ensuring alignment with broader HR and business strategies.
  • Lead and develop a geographically dispersed team of 15+ full-time Talent Acquisition professionals, fostering creativity, accountability, and collaboration.
  • Build trusted, consultative relationships with internal stakeholders, hiring managers, and senior leaders across the company.
  • Serve as a culture carrier and advocate of GSF’s Creed and Values.

Operational Excellence & Process Improvement

  • Continually assess and enhance recruiting workflows, technology usage, and process efficiency to improve speed, experience, and quality of hire.
  • Oversee all stages of the candidate lifecycle, ensuring consistency, transparency, and compliance.
  • Establish and monitor KPIs and recruitment metrics to drive accountability and performance insights.

Employer Branding & Partnerships

  • Collaborate with Global Branding and Communications to strengthen the company’s employer brand and EVP across all platforms.
  • Implement online and offline branding strategies, including event participation, social media, and targeted campaigns.
  • Cultivate and manage strategic partnerships with high schools, colleges, DEI organizations, and civic groups to strengthen community presence and talent pipelines.

Technology & Vendor Management

  • Lead the implementation and optimization of applicant tracking systems (ATS), with preferred experience in Jobvite.
  • Manage vendor partnerships including job boards, sourcing tools, and external agencies to maximize ROI and performance.
  • Onboarding & Talent Integration
  • Partner with HR to continuously improve the onboarding process to drive early engagement and successful integration for all new hires.

Qualifications

What You’ll Need

Education & Certification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field from an accredited institution.

Experience

  • 8–10 years of progressive recruiting experience including full-cycle hiring from hourly to executive-level roles.
  • Proven success leading a geographically dispersed TA team.
  • Experience within a corporate setting; manufacturing, logistics, or supply chain environment preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining strategic partnerships and influencing senior stakeholders.

Skills & Competencies

  • Deep knowledge of sourcing strategies, ATS platforms, compliance regulations (EEOC, OFCCP, DOL), and recruiting operations.
  • Expertise in recruitment marketing and employment branding, including digital and in-person strategies.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills; proven ability to manage competing priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Skilled in structured interviewing techniques, selection tools, and candidate assessment methods.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and stakeholder management abilities.

Additional Qualifications

  • Able to negotiate employment agreements and vendor contracts.
  • High comfort level with ambiguity, shifting priorities, and dynamic work environments.

  • Up to 25% travel to various company sites and recruiting events.

The anticipated salary range for this role is $190 - 220K.
