Overview

JOB SUMMARY:  Plans and manages warehouse and transportation operations to meet GSF objectives for quality, efficiency, productivity, and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Manages all warehouse shipping and receiving, transportation and logistics activities to ensure that department and GSF productivity and quality objectives are met or exceeded. (25%)
  1. Manages assigned staff, assigning work, providing training and development, evaluating performance, and building a motivated, effective team to ensure that organizational goals for diversity, career development, productivity, performance management and employee involvement are met. Assists in the recruitment and selection of employees. (20%)
  1. Audits operational procedures and programs to identify and implement improvements in product availability, storage optimization, sanitation, security and inventory accuracy, resulting in increased timeliness and productivity. (15%)
  1. Develops, audits, and controls the budget within plan. (10%)
  1. Manages all finished goods, raw materials and ingredient inventories to ensure accuracy, proper rotation and efficient storage and movement. (10%)
  1. Develops and implements policies and procedures to comply with company customer, and regulatory agency guidelines for safety and productivity. (10%)
  1. Communicates with senior management and employees to ensure the effective dissemination of company policies, analysis, and operations-related information required for effective decision-making. (10%)
  1. Performs other related and assigned duties as necessary.

LEADERSHIP/MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITY

Manages, through subordinate supervisors, approximately 100 mostly hourly employees

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  Education and experience equivalent to:

 

Education/Certification:

Bachelor’s degree in purchasing or logistics management from an accredited college or university

 

Experience:

7 to 10 years of relevant work experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment with increasing management experience
