Overview

We are looking for an Operations Manager with strong WMS experience to join our team.  The Operations Manager plans and manages warehouse and transportation operations to meet QCD and GSF objectives for quality, efficiency, productivity, and customer satisfaction.  This person should be qualified to assume General Manager duties in their absence.

Competitive salary bonus and car allowance, plus other great benefits of employment by QCD. Salary range is $75k - $85k, DOE.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Plans and coordinates warehouse, transportation, or purchasing activities to ensure that department and GSF productivity and quality objectives are met or exceeded. (25%)
  1. Manages assigned staff, assigning work, providing training and development, evaluating performance, and building a motivated, effective team to ensure that organizational goals for diversity, career development, productivity, performance management and employee involvement are met. Assists in the recruitment and selection of employees.  (20%)
  1. Audits operational procedures and programs to identify and implement improvements in product availability, storage, sanitation, security and inventory delivery, resulting in increased timeliness and productivity. (15%)
  1. Develops, audits, and controls the budget within plan. (10%)
  1. Oversees purchasing, leasing, and maintenance of distribution equipment (tractors, trailers, material handling equipment) to achieve safety, longevity, and efficiency objectives. (10%)
  1. Develops and implements policies and procedures to comply with company, customer, and regulatory agency guidelines for safety and productivity. (10%)
  1. Communicates with senior management and employees to ensure the effective dissemination of company policies, analysis, and operations-related information required for effective decision-making. (10%)
  1. Performs other related and assigned duties as necessary.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  Education and experience equivalent to:

 

Education/Certification:

Bachelor’s degree in purchasing or logistics management from an accredited college or university preferred.

 

Experience:

 

7 to 10 years of relevant work experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment with increasing management experience

Must have strong experience working with warehouse management systems and ERP systems. 

Experience working with in house transportation (drivers and fleet) preferred.
