We are looking for a Senior Systems Engineer!
The Senior Systems Engineer will be accountable for ensuring the availability and functionality of the entire Office 365 environment (i.e. Azure/Entra ID, Exchange Online, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint Online) as well as provide OS-level support for Linux. In addition, this position will be expected to identify and implement automation opportunities as well as implement security best practices on supported platforms. The Sr. Systems Engineer will take ownership and responsibility for their platforms. In addition they will be expected to independently identify issues, solution for them, and implement at scale. This is a great opportunity to help the IT organization mature and formalize its service offerings. The position will report to the Systems Engineering Manager and is located in Irvine, CA. This will be a hybrid role, with an expected 3 out of 5 physical days in the office.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Systems Support and Administration · Provide administrative and operational support in all areas needed: Azure / Entra ID/AD Connect, AD On-Prem, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, SSO and Enterprise App configurations, Teams, OneDrive, and all associated configurations. · Understand the breadth of our service offerings; suggest, plan, and implement solutions for complex problems. · Enhance service offerings by partnering with vendors and researching options · ServiceNow Ticket handling and support for Level 2 and Level 3 issues · Troubleshoot and resolve system issues. Identify and help implement prevention measures. Follow Severity 1/outage procedures and processes. · Participate in after-hours upgrades, troubleshooting, and/or on-call availability as scheduled. · Continuously improve and automate administrative and operational tasks by leveraging automation, scripting (PowerShell), and 3rd party tools. · Create and maintain documentation as it relates to configuration(s) and integrations. · Create and help maintain formal procedures on operational maintenance and policies related to the O365 platform, system security, performance monitoring, and system changes. · Administer licensing audits, reviews and optimization for O365 · Develop cadence of operational maintenance checklist and scheduled activities

2. Technology Projects · Evaluate current systems in areas of specialty to identify areas for improvement or new direction and provide input into future systems strategies. · Influence and contribute to detailed designs, functional and technical, for assigned projects. · Create, request, and present technical and licensing requirements on new projects · Work closely with IT staff to clearly define issues and/or requirements that result in modifications to any of the systems, hardware or OS in area of specialty. · Provide expert advice, training and project management and technical support for various projects in area of specialty.

3. Security Audits/Implementations · Continuously evaluate and assess the feasibility of security policy and security-related tasks that are requested by the security team · Contribute knowledge in areas of expertise around implementing best security practices and monitoring for drift.

4. Linux Administration · Collaborate with the infrastructure team, applications teams, and security team to maintain a secure and patched Linux virtual environment. · Intermediate Linux administration and troubleshooting. Primary subject matter expert on Linux.

5. Additional Responsibilities · Accountable for properly following all IT standards, processes and methodologies as applicable including but not limited to Quality Assurance (QA), Project Management Life Cycle (PMLC) and Production Change Control procedures. · Other responsibilities and accountabilities may be assigned based on business and organization needs.
