Overview

Position Summary (Job Description):

Receives, and stores products and/or materials.  Safely operates all material handling equipment.  Accurately completes all associated paper work.  Maintains clean work area consistent with company standards.

Responsibilities

General Responsibilities/Essential Job Functions:

 

1. Under the direction of the operations supervisor, is responsible for visually inspecting incoming and outgoing warehouse products to determine acceptability for shipment and/or receiving of product.  Reads labels and or printing on product containers and associated documents.  Counts and calculates quantity of product to verify accuracy of incoming shipment.  On a repetitive basis moves, lifts, carries and places product on a pallet, into a trailer, or storage area, in temperature controlled or non-controlled environments. Steps into the driving position and uses full range of peripheral vision to operate a forklift or pallet jack in an accident free manner. 

 

2. Maintains calibrated thermometer and perform calibration checks according to the established procedure. Rotate product received to ensure First In – First Out method is observed during selection.  Document all code dates to ensure our quality standards. Brings product down from the rack as needed, while ensuring proper product rotation and keeping the pallets in the warehouse consolidated.

 

3. Ensure that all cases within the warehouse are on a pallet and in their correct slot location; return any miss-stocked products to their correct slot location.

 

4. Count items as selected by the Inventory Control Coordinators as needed. Maintain clean-as-you go standards and use brooms, mops and other cleaning materials (including solvents and soaps) to clean work area.  Complete any other functions that may be assigned.

**Reaching - frequently - 34% - 66% of shift

    Coordination - this job requires both upper and lower extremity coordination

**Endure working in a cold environment and experience temperature changes

 

Qualifications

Qualifications Required of this Position:

Licensed fork lift operator with a minimum of six months of safe operation of material handling equipment.  Able to perform accurate visual inspections and repeatedly lift up to 50 pounds. Possess reading and basic math skills.  Physically capable of standing, walking and twisting while carrying 50 pound objects. HS Diploma or equivalent required.
