Overview

The process lead is responsible for leading daily management systems and loss elimination processes that enable stable, reliable production of high quality products.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Own the centerline management Daily Management System for the line
  • Develop capability of the team to follow centerline Daily Management Systems with excellence
  • Engage in the Shift Hand-Off, Shiftly Operational Review, Daily Operational Review, and Weekly Operational Review to understand losses, coach, build capability, etc.
  • Ensure team daily management addresses centerline/Q-factor outages and quality issues
  • Participate in Daily Management Systems and Equipment health checks with the line leader and team leaders to coach standards management
  • Eliminate barriers for the line around quality related standard execution
  • Own all quality measures on the scorecard for the line and execute gap analysis / action planning process
  • Ensure set-up / changeovers are executed per the standards and own ongoing improvement/loss elimination of the procedures
  • Work with the project resources to ensure all the impacts to quality and centerline management are managed
  • Work with the teams and incoming material quality system owners to ensure materials issues are addressed and root caused appropriately
  • Own the food safety program for the line
  • Own master sanitization for the line
  • Communication - ensure the teams are receiving the right information for quality, standards, and centerline management

LEADER RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Tour Leadership (Coaching team on standards execution)
  • Coach the teams on keeping the line at base condition
  • Department level system ownership (could also own a site level system)
  • Be a coach for the teams on the use of GPS (IWS) tools to solve problems (Why Why, Basic Problem Solving, etc.)
  • Escalate issues that need further attention properly
  • Demonstrate the GSF Creed and Values

Qualifications

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering: Chemical, Mechanical or Electrical preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

  • High level of reading comprehension
  • Ability to write detailed correspondence and documentation
  • Ability to use effective problem solving skills

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

  • Ability to utilize complex mathematical formulas and ability to relate scientific theory to real world work processes

 

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment and/or clothing
  • Stand/walk 8 or more hours per day
  • Constantly twist/turn and talk/hear
  • Frequently squat, bend, reach, handle/finger, grip/grasp and use fine motor tasks
  • Occasionally lift up to 25 lbs from floor to shoulder level and carry 30 feet
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and color vision

 

 

ENVIRONMENTAL/ATMOSPHERIC CONDITIONS:

  • Constantly work in damp, wet, humid and slippery environments
  • Constantly work near moving machinery
  • Constantly work in cold (35-40 degrees)
  • Constantly work in high noise levels requiring hearing protection

 

MACHINES/TOOLS/EQUIPMENT/SOFTWARE:

  • Bump cap, hair net, safety glasses, hearing protection, and smock.
  • Rubber and cotton gloves.
  • Knowledge of equipment on the production line you are responsible for
  • Advanced level of computer skills
