JOB SUMMARY: Directs day to day department cost accounting functions to provide timely and accurate information on costing, pricing, reporting, and resource allocation, ensuring compliance with generally accepted accounting principles.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Monitors and analyzes department financial accounts, making period-end journal entries and reconciling overhead expenses to ensure accuracy and cost effectiveness, in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles. (20%)
Compiles, monitors, and analyzes cost changes and related reports (quarterly pricing, pricing schedules, cost savings projects) in products, raw materials, overhead, manufacturing methods, and wages to facilitate pricing decisions. (20%)
Collaborates with liquid products operations to ensure continuity and clarify of financial information and performance and to facilitate financial analysis. (20%)
Supervises assigned staff to ensure performance of timely, accurate, and thorough cost accounting functions in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles, to maintain computerized inventory systems, and to ensure timely and accurate order processing (10%)
Oversees operations and maintenance of computerized standard cost and inventory systems to ensure availability of accurate and timely information. (10%)
Conducts the budget process, collaborating with operations to establish overhead expense targets, labor standards, yield standards, and usage standards, and verifying that expenses and standards are reconciled and followed during the year. (10%)
Participates in the capital budget process, ensuring that capital projects are appropriately budgeted in compliance with GSF policies and procedures. (5%)
Evaluates special projects and feasibility studies (new products, customers, methods or services) to determine impact on costs and revenues. (5%)

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education and experience equivalent to:
Education/Certification:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Cost Accounting from an accredited college or university.
Experience:
3 to 6 years of related work experience in cost accounting and computerized inventory systems in a manufacturing environment.
