Overview

JOB SUMMARY: Under the direction of our Engineering Manager or a Project Manager an Engineer Intern in manufacturing provides basic engineering analysis and support on a variety of plant-wide projects.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Develop various equipment and work standards
  2. Work with operations leaders on training aids as required
  3. Research, develop and document material balances and various efficiency standards
  4. Investigate current minor equipment stoppages and document solutions
  5. Other projects, task and duties as assigned

Qualifications

Qualifications and Requirements
• Working on a Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited college with a minimum 3.0 GPA (will be verified)
• Engineering student
• 0 to 3 years’ experience.
• Previous internship experience is a plus.
• Successful completion of EIT exam highly desirable.
• Strong problem solving skills.
• Understanding of DOE principals.
• Very capable in use of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, etc.)
• Enthusiasm for the opportunity and willingness to go beyond the responsibilities identified
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Strong initiative, self-starter and highly motivated
• Ability to manage multiple projects
• Ability to work independently and in a team and perform well in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
• Confidence to work with and influence senior team members
• Available for a 20+ hours/week internship

• PC spreadsheet / word processing/PowerPoint software (B)
• Project coordination & management concepts (B)
• Engineered work standards concepts and techniques (B)
• CAD software tools (J)
