Overview

JOB SUMMARY:   Directs day to day department cost accounting functions to provide timely and accurate information on costing, pricing, reporting, and resource allocation, ensuring compliance with generally accepted accounting principles.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    1. Supports operations by monitoring, preparing and evaluating detailed analytical reports regarding inventory cost, productivity, efficiencies and associate variances. (30%)

     

    1. Monitors and analyzes general ledger accounts and inventory transactions, making period-end journal entries and reconciling accounts to ensure accuracy and cost effectiveness, in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles. (20%)

     

    1. Responsible for timely analysis and concise communication of variances to standard (Material Usage, Labor, Purchase Price Variance, Overhead Spend and absorption to inventory). Champion of presenting accurate and timely Key Performance Indicators to drive continual improvement (20%)

     

    1. Monitors the progress, the completion and the adherence to Company policies of physical inventory counts of ingredients, packaging, finished goods and spare parts. (10%)

     

    1. Conduct the budget process, collaborating with operations and leadership to establish labor standards and yield standards (10%)

     

    1. Performs other related and assigned duties as necessary (10%).

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  Education and experience equivalent to:

 

Education/Certification:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Cost Accounting from an accredited college or university.

 

Experience:

3 to 6 years of related work experience in cost accounting and computerized inventory systems in a manufacturing environment.
