We are seeking an energetic, skilled Senior Human Resources Manager for our facility in Penn Yan, New York.  
 
We are looking for a forward thinking HR professional who has demonstrated success in all core functions of HR, but also is able to maximize employee performance and meet strategic objectives as a business partner to the management team.  This person will help formulate strategies and programs to enhance cross-functional relationships, employee relations, training, performance management, on-boarding, etc.
 
This person manages all Human Resources functions and activities to ensure that KanPak recruits and retains a qualified workforce to meet KanPak and customer objectives. Ensures compliance with labor, safety and company rules and regulations.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
 
  • Oversees the recruitment, selection, placement, and orientation of exempt, non-exempt, and hourly employees to achieve required staffing levels and selection of the best qualified candidates.
  • Oversees the implementation, administration, and dissemination of information regarding all Human Resources functions including employment, labor relations, training, management development, employee programs, workers’ compensation, compensation, and benefits for exempt, and non-exempt employees, ensuring compliance with state, federal, and company policies, procedures, and regulations (e.g., FLSA, PFL, FMLA, EEO, ADA, Title VII).
  • Develops and implements safety programs and practices to ensure compliance with KanPak standards and regulatory agencies (e.g., OSHA, etc.) and to provide a safe and healthy environment for KanPak employees. 
  • Administers performance management and appraisal programs to ensure program effectiveness.
  • Investigates employee grievances and harassment or discrimination concerns, taking the required actions to resolve problems and ensure a safe and productive work environment.
  • Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy.
  • Bridge management and employee relations by addressing demands, grievances, or other issues.
  • Manage the performance appraisal system to ensure high performance and employee development.
  • Oversee employee compensation and benefits administration.
  • Ensure legal compliance throughout human resource management.
  • Plan, monitor, and appraise HR activities and processes.
  • Conduct and analyze exit interviews and make necessary adjustments to employee retention strategies.
  • Organize, update, and maintain HR records (e.g., employee database, performance reports).
  • Support current and future business needs through employee engagement, motivation, and preservation.
  • Develop and enforce organizational policies and practices.
  • Oversee and manage a performance appraisal system that drives high performance.
  • Coordinate staff training and development initiatives.
  • Assist with managing workplace safety initiatives and ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
 
LEADERSHIP/MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITY
 
Provides oversight of human resources programs serving nearly 250 employees; supervises small HR staff.  Operations are 24 / 7 and would require off-shift availability on-site and via phone.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  Education and experience equivalent to:

Education/Certification:
 
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or labor-related field from an accredited college or university required; Master's degree in Human Resources, Business, PA or labor related field preferred.
 
• SHRM-CP or Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification highly desired/preferred.
 
• Bi-Lingual (Spanish / English) highly desired.
 
 
Experience:
 
  • 10 - 15 years of relevant Human Resources management work experience.
  • Manufacturing experience highly preferred.

The anticipated compensation range is $90,000 - $120,000.
