We are seeking an energetic, skilled Plant Accountant for our facility in Arkansas City, KS.  

Responsibilities

Responsible for cost accounting, financial analysis, assist in development and maintenance of product standards (BOMs), maintenance of inventory standards, labor efficiency reporting and assist in month end closing.  Responsible for a wide array of accounting functions to include:  data entry and compilation, analytics, calculations and verification of data.  Provides management with financial information by researching and analyzing accounts.

Qualifications

Primary Objectives:

  • Coordinate GSF Quality activities and operations to meet objective for quality, food safety, integrity, regulatory compliances, cost, safety and customer satisfaction at KanPak
  • Participate in formulating and administering division’s short and long range goals and objectives for business growth
  • Review for accuracy and handle the standards roll up. Analyze actual costs versus standard cost.  Ensure materials are set at relevant levels.
  • Measure and analyze purchase price to standard costing to evaluate any changes & PPV.  
  • Review weekly Manufacturing Order Variance report.
  • Update and report daily the Product, Loss, and Damage report. Prepare re-class journal weekly.
  • Review Cost Center reports with management monthly. Ability to forecast monthly expenses. 
  • Completion of the capital roll forward monthly.
  • Coding on a monthly basis the corporate credit card statement to the correct cost center.
  • Identify, resolve, and forecast inventory reserve on a weekly basis for the forecast and complete the inventory reserve for month end.
  • General accounting duties include journal entry preparation, month end closing tasks and reconciliation of inventory and financial reporting.
  • Assist in the budgeting and forecasting process.
  • Track Monthly Dairy Inventory for Monthly Milk Market Reporting
  • Other duties as assigned by Plant Controller or designees.

Employment Requirements:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field
  • Minimum of 5 Years manufacturing experience preferred
