Responsibilities

JOB OVERVIEW

 

  • Adheres to safety, food safety, quality, and legal compliance.
  • Knowledgeable in PPE, OSHA, MSDS, lock-out/tag-out, GMP, SSOP, and HACCP.
  • Perform all work in accordance with environmental, health, and safety standards, rules, regulations, and practices of the facility.
  • Must be able to pass training/certifications as required for qualification.
  • Observe and analyze equipment performance and report any probles to the supervisor.
  • Keep area clean and free of safety hazards.
  • Document completed work as required by the supervisor.
  • Compliance with all other duties as assigned.

JOB SUMMARY:   Assist machine operators on the fresh beef packaging lines, and/or pack frozen meat patties into boxes.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Adheres to safety, food safety, quality and legal compliance.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment and/or clothing.
  • Stand/walk 7 or more hours per day.
  • Constantly talk/hear throughout the day.
  • Constantly use eye/hand coordination.
  • Constantly bend/twist/turn and use eye/hand/foot coordination.
  • Occasionally squat, grip/grasp, use fine motor tasks and handle/finger.
  • Frequently/constantly lift and carry up to 50 lbs at waist height when moving patty boxes up to 15 feet.
  • Push patty boxes requiring up to 50 lbs of force 3 feet.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and color vision.

 

ENVIRONMENTAL/ATMOSPHERIC CONDITIONS:

  • Constantly work in damp, wet, humid and slippery environments.
  • Constantly work near moving equipment in extreme heat/cold (40-45 degrees).
  • Constantly work in high noise levels requiring hearing protection.
  • Frequently exposed to fumes or airborne debris.
  • Occasionally work with toxic or caustic chemicals.
  • Occasionally exposed to segmental vibration.

 

MACHINES/TOOLS/EQUIPMENT/SOFTWARE:

  • Bump cap, hair net, safety glasses, hearing protection, and smock.
  • Rubber and cotton gloves.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  Education and experience equivalent to:

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or GED.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • None

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

  • Ability to use mathematical functions including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division in accordance with production paperwork.
  • Ability to perform these operations using units of weight measurement, volume, and distance.
