Primary Objectives:

• Coordinate GSF Quality activities and operations to meet objective for quality, food safety, integrity, regulatory compliances, cost, safety, and customer satisfaction at KanPak
• Participate in formulating and administering division’s short and long range goals and objectives for business growth.
  
  
• Direct and Coordinate Engineering Operations and Supervision of Direct Reports.
  • Plans and directs the day-to-day activities of Engineering and Maintenance staff to ensure optimal utilization of engineering resources, optimal balance of work week and weekend work priorities, effective work order processing, rapid production breakdown response, efficient project completion, and implementation of other engineering policies and procedures.
  • Supervises Engineering and Maintenance staff, including work allocation, training and development, performance appraisal, and motivation, to ensure engineering operations objectives are met.
• Provide leadership to develop and control the Capital Program.​
  • Provide efficient planning and communications to ensure that the Capital Plan meets the company needs.
  • Own and develop the Capital Program to streamline its efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Manage all KanPak projects from start to finish.
    
• Provide sound engineering principles to facilitate the execution of the projects.​
  • Review equipment needs with all departments to optimize our performance.
  • Review with maintenance needs to provide consistent utilities and structure.
  • Work closely with accounting to ensure proper cost control and documentation of capital assets.
  • Keep abreast of new technology and equipment upgrades, to recommend new ideas.
  • Provide leadership with all projects to achieve the manufacturing, safety & security, quality, and financial goals of KanPak.
    
• Manage Contractors​
  • Ensure that all safety policies and procedures are complied with by outside contractors.
  • Initiate/review bid packages for multiple vendors to provide competitive costs.
  • Obtain proper documentation that the contractor is qualified to do the job at hand.
  • Reviews work with contractors to ensure work is done to specifications and written procedures.
    
• Manage Equipment​
  • Designs and/or specifies equipment that meets the requirement of Operations, Sanitation, Food Safety, Maintenance and Safety.
  • Develops designs that utilizes standard, off the shelf components whenever possible.
  • Ensure that all new equipment is properly guarded, safe to operate, and meets OSHA standards.
  • Review’s equipment needs with vendors and manufacturers to insure performance and proper application.
  • Update building drawings to include any new modifications.
  • Facilitate training and documentation for employees on any new equipment.

• BS degree in an engineering field or equivalent education/experience.
• 7+ years of experience as a Project Engineer and/or Engineering Manager.  Proven ability to plan and manage multiple projects on-time and under budget.
  
• 5 years of supervisory experience. 
• Excellent knowledge of design and visualization software such as AutoCAD, Solid works, etc.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of safe design, sanitary design, food processing equipment, and packaging equipment is desired.  Familiar with best practices for food manufacturing and procedures.
• Working knowledge of electrical power, hydraulics, pneumatics, and facility design is desired.
• Strong project management skills and proven ability to manage multiple projects on-time and under budget.
• Aptitude for working collaboratively with multiple disciplines within teams and projects.
